Expect lots of surprises in this final batch of our Furtwängler digital retrospective! It includes a live performance recorded by the Danish national radio during a 1950 tour of the Wiener Philharmoniker (which is released here for the first time ever). The performance features Schubert’s Unfinished symphony, and was conducted by Furtwängler in the Mansion of the Odd Fellows community of Copenhagen. This digital album includes as a bonus two versions of Rosamunde’s entr’acte, notably one recorded at the tempo Furtwängler required, but rejected due to the 78 rpm side-length.01.
