2xHD and Resonance Records present Ballads and Blues, a compilation of beloved tracks from Jazz chanteuse Polly Gibbons. The songs are taken from her acclaimed albums All I Can Do and Is It Me…?. With production and mixing duties on both records by audiophile and founder of Resonance Records George Klabin, and mastering done through 2xHD’s mastering process, this high-fidelity package presents the singer with stunning and resounding clarity.
Polly Gibbons, the rising young British singer of Jazz, Blues, and Soul, has a sound and a style that give off sparks. Her voice is raspy, raw, and full of heat; it sputters and growls, carves out funky grooves, and wails into the stratosphere. Improvisations tumble out of her. Whatever the tempo, Polly’s time and pitch are spot-on; no challenge throws her. And when she sings a quiet, sparsely arranged love song, she’s a no-fills storyteller of great heart.
